valve seat tooling

Without tooling that meets the highest industry standards, a valve seat machine, no matter how good it is, will not give satisfactory machining. That's why Serdi offers a whole range of tooling manufactured and controlled in-house in order to offer you an exemplary quality in the shortest delivery times.

Our valve seat tooling range

Serdi offers 3 ranges of toolholders, bit holders and cutting bits combinations:

Serdi Original:

Combining a tungsten carbide cutting bit with a triangular base on a bit holder adjustable to the seat diameter to be machined. This range is compatible with most competitive tooling.

Serdi Advanced Design

Combining a tungsten carbide cutting bit with a square base on a bit holder adjustable to the seat diameter to be machined. This range has the benefits of offering a positive 8° cutting angle, more efficient on hard seats.

Serdi TRI

Combining a triangular CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting bit on a bit holder adjustable to the seat diameter to be machined. Very efficient to machine the hardest valve seats.

Tool holders

Our various tool holders have a male taper that meets the ISO30 standard. They are compatible with all our machine spindles. Manufactured in pre-treated steel, they are then turned, milled and ground in our factory to guarantee optimal precision.

porte-plaquette-s2700

Bit holders

Our bit holders are assembled on the dedicated tool holder, and slide on it to adjust the machining diameter of the cutting insert. With our entire range, it is possible to machine valve seats from Ø16 to Ø120 mm.

Form cutting bits

Made of high quality tungsten carbides, our form cutting bits are ground with a grinding wheel on our two CNC grinding machines. We have thousand different profiles available to meet any particular requirement. If the existing profiles are not suitable, we can also create a profile on request.

pilote-gamme

Pilots

As an essential element between the cylinder head and the machine, we offer a range of tungsten carbide pilots, from 3.5 mm to 20 mm in diameter, in 0.01 mm increments.

Our pilots are ground in-house, mounted between centers, first roughened and then finished to diameter, to ensure the best concentricity.
